Garmin Edge 200 - a must have piece of kit.
The use of technology in sport is sometimes dismissed as a gimic or worse still a worthless gadget! Dont be so quick to jump to conclusions though! Yes you can spend lots of money out there on loads of gear and very expensive GPS systems that do everything but make the tea, But the Edge 200 is not that. Its more like the trusted pocket watch that it long past its best, yet you know it wont let you down.
The Garmin Edge 200 offers users just the right amount of information and functionality. At its core the Garmin Edge 200 has three simple functions, yes three!
GPS Enabled - yep, it quite clever! - It has a really fast GPS Receiver and what Garmin call a HotFix satellite predictor. What is that important, well you can get going a lot quicker and not have to sit around waiting for the Edge 200 to work out where you are. It also has some other little "silent" features - by that I mean, it just does stuff without you knowing it does it. A good example might be that when you are out cycling you stop for a while!.. the GPS knows you have stopped and auto stops the timer... how cool is that? If you want you can also programme it to bleep at you at regular distance markers so you know how far youve gone.
Distance, Time & Speed - well if it couldnt tell you this then it would be really quite a useless piece of kit wouldnt it? - the thing is, it does tell you, and in a very easy to digest, none cluttered way. Whats really cool is that it can stope up to 130 Hours of data!
